Here at G.I.V.E., we want to be a catalyst for positive change, and with over 7 years of volunteering experience, we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our Non-Profit Organization upon: support, empowerment, and progress. Mission Statement
In partnership with Boys & Girls Club of Fullerton, G.I.V.E. presents a dedicated group of volunteers whose grades range from junior high to college. We offer music, STEM, and English tutoring services for underprivileged children and youth at the Fullerton Community Center and surrounding areas in Southern California.
G.I.V.E. strives to create an inspiring and learning environment for our community's youth. Through enriching activities, we work to enhance children’s academic and musical foundations by providing the resources and tutor-based guidance that help towards success. Our goal is to give students an opportunity to find their passion for academic and arts studies. Through weekly services, tutors of the G.I.V.E. program find that volunteering for their community gives them benefits as well. Our tutors have come to gain significant leadership skills and develop personal character by interacting with learning students. Our services construct a stronger bond between our tutors and students, fostering a welcoming environment and quality learning.
With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, our volunteers also started the Supporting Our Communities project by distributing hand sanitizer and mask supplies to first responders and essential workers to 11 cities in the Orange and LA counties. The weekly tutoring sessions have also started their transition to online services through Zoom, helping students with homework and continuing with our education goals.
In addition to volunteering services for the underprivileged population, we also take part in community involvement activities. Some of the annual events we attend include Love Fullerton and city beautification projects. We also have projects underway to help children’s well-being and hunger relief causes, as well as shelters for the homeless, domestics violence victims, human trafficking victims, and refugees.
